EMDR is short for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

This approach is based on the model of adaptive information processing. We all adapt in the best way we can to survive and thrive in our circumstances and some experiences need extra attention to process to adaptive resolution

EMDR therapy is a well researched therapy approach that has evolved over the past 30 years, with eye movement being one of many options. It has become a therapy that can be adapted to your needs, addressing everything from intergenerational trauma to performance anxiety.

Because EMDR has been such an exciting addition to the field of therapy there is new research enriching the knowledge base all the time. The adaptive information processing model is based in neuroscience, and explains how the brain and nervous system establish patterns which, over time may become less helpful. The initial phases of EMDR will be spent exploring your unique ways of being and gaining appreciation for the ways you have adapted.   From there, we will develop a plan that may change as it moves forward. There will be many choice points along the way and I value the expertise you already have. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on this journey of discovery.
